Based on the results of inspections carried out by the Bank of Russia, 17 credit institutions were identified in the country that violated cyber security requirements.

After checking, the Bank of Russia fined 17 banks for violating cyber security requirements. This was stated by the first deputy director of the information security department of the regulator Artem Sychev.

“In recent years, about 17 banks have received fines for non-compliance with information security requirements,” Sychev said during a speech at the State Duma.

Sychev added that the Central Bank is starting to move from checks to cyber-instructions. According to him, this is a more effective form that allows you to quickly identify the risks to which banks and financial organizations may be exposed. Accordingly, it will be possible to respond to detected problems faster in this way.
