The hackers have put up the data of 500 million users of the social network LinkedIn for sale. This was reported on April 6 on the CyberNews portal .

They noted that there was no leak and the data was taken from open access. To do this, the hackers used the method of scraping (illegal data collection).
“We looked at the alleged LinkedIn data that was posted for sale and found it to be a collection of data from a number of websites and companies. They do include publicly available user profile data that appears to have been scraped from LinkedIn. It was not a data leak, “- said the administration of the social network.
As CyberNews reported on April 6, the data archive contained user IDs, names, postal addresses, phone numbers, and links to pages on other social networks.
On the same day, Roskomnadzor (RKN) demanded that the management of Facebook provide full information about the leak of personal data of Russian users of the social network.
The leak of personal data of users from 106 countries became known on April 3. It was noted that among them the data of almost 10 million users from the Russian Federation. As a company representative explained, the information was extracted due to a vulnerability that was fixed in 2019.
Social network LinkedIn was created to find business contacts. In 2016, access to the social network was blocked in Russia due to the fact that LinkedIn did not localize the personal data of Russians on the territory of our country in accordance with the requirements of Russian legislation.
