Users of the Norton LifeLock password manager have been warned about a possible leak of keys. Gen Digital sent 6.4 thousand notifications to users whose data could have been compromised, writes TechCrunch.

At the same time, the company itself assures that the leak was not due to a security vulnerability, but due to the lack of two-factor authentication for users.

It is noted that the attackers received logins and passwords from December 1, but the company discovered this only on December 12. Then we recorded a jump in unsuccessful attempts to enter the service. As a result of the leak, first and last names, as well as phone numbers and e-mail addresses, got into the public domain. The company warns that attackers could gain access, including passwords.

In total, more than 925,000 active and inactive accounts were attacked.
