{"id":20905,"date":"2021-04-09T23:01:04","date_gmt":"2021-04-09T17:31:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/valeurbit.com\/blog\/?p=20905"},"modified":"2021-04-09T23:01:10","modified_gmt":"2021-04-09T17:31:10","slug":"data-of-500-million-linkedin-users-put-up-for-sale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/valeurbit.com\/blog\/data-of-500-million-linkedin-users-put-up-for-sale\/","title":{"rendered":"Data of 500 million LinkedIn users put up for sale"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The hackers have put up the data of 500 million users of the social network LinkedIn for sale.\u00a0This was reported on April 6 on the\u00a0CyberNews\u00a0portal\u00a0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Updated on Friday, April 9th, the post contains a comment from LinkedIn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They noted that there was no leak and the data was taken from open access.&nbsp;To do this, the hackers used the method of scraping (illegal data collection).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe looked at the alleged LinkedIn data that was posted for sale and found it to be a collection of data from a number of websites and companies.&nbsp;They do include publicly available user profile data that appears to have been scraped from LinkedIn.&nbsp;It was not a data leak, &#8220;- said the administration of the social network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As CyberNews reported on April 6, the data archive contained user IDs, names, postal addresses, phone numbers, and links to pages on other social networks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the same day, Roskomnadzor (RKN)\u00a0demanded\u00a0that the management of Facebook provide full information about the leak of personal data of Russian users of the social network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The leak of personal data of users from 106 countries\u00a0became known\u00a0on April 3.\u00a0It was noted that among them the data of almost 10 million users from the Russian Federation.\u00a0As a company representative explained, the information was extracted due to a vulnerability that was fixed in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Social network LinkedIn was created to find business contacts.\u00a0In 2016, access to the social network was blocked in Russia due to the fact that LinkedIn\u00a0did not localize the\u00a0personal data of Russians on the territory of our country in accordance with the requirements of Russian legislation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The hackers have put up the data of 500 million users of the social network LinkedIn for sale.\u00a0This was reported on April 6 on the\u00a0CyberNews\u00a0portal\u00a0.
